Because we all know that all the guys who get involved with Tomie in some way end up getting an abnormal irresistible urge to carve her up and kill her, and she often goes all rageface about it. XD
I love Junji Ito so much, not even kidding - he's my absolute favorite horror manga author/artist of all time. And I have a love/hate relationship with Tomie, arguably one of his most famous characters ... on the one hand she's a massive bitch and I hate her, and on the other hand she's this amazingly creepy otherworldly entity and I can't get enough of her stories!
I decided to go with an "in-between" version of the school uniform - so this outfit takes elements from both the manga and the live-action movie versions of Tomie. Again, it's an outfit I altered, as I managed to find a vintage-style ensemble for cheap online and just modified it. (Added note: please be aware that the beauty spot is on the CORRECT side. The earliest Tomie translations flipped the manga to accommodate English readers for left-to-right reading so it's on the wrong side in those scans XD)
Very special thanks to *strawdoll and ~ZuZuMoo for applying the special effects gore makeup for me! ♥
I think that you could not have captured her expression more perfectly. The darkness only adds to the effect. I'm glad you chose to go with your own style, rather than choosing between the manga and the movies. It makes your cosplay unique and special. Did you make your own fake blood and scars? If so, would you mind letting me know how? The last picture in this series is wonderful. You look helpless, but still dangerous at the same time. Its wonderful.
Thank you so much once again! And yes, I made my own scars using a special effects makeup kit that I bought. The blood came free with the kit so I didn't make that, but it's actually easy to make fake blood - you can look up instructions for it on Google.
I really appreciate your feedback and opinion. *__*
Whenever I attempted to make my fake blood, it turned out really well. However, the ingredients made it kind of sticky. Did you have that issue? Or was the texture more pliable?
I have really enjoyed looking through your various works on Tumblr and here on dA. It is very inspirational for me. Tomie helped me get through a very difficult time in my life, so seeing someone who is able to express her so perfectly makes me feel indescribable. I'm sorry for these comments being so long, but I appreciate you taking the time to reply to me.
Don't be sorry! I love reading comments like this because it's amazing to me that someone would be able to appreciate my work thank you for your support!
Ah, the ingredients for the fake blood CAN get a little bit sticky? But at least it washes out really easily
Aww that's very generous of you! I'm really hoping to do more Ito cosplay in the future so I hope it won't be a disappointment, thanks so much for watching *___*
You're welcome ^^ The only problem I see with doing more Ito cosplay, is that can't think of any other female as well know as Tomie in his work. But then again he could have made more manga than just the Museum of Terror, Gyo and Uzamaki.
